Veterans Day Celebrations!

Last Friday, the Clermont Elementary began the day with a breakfast to honor our Veteran parents, and also our active duty military families. The JROTC Cadets from Edison HS came over to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Veteran and active duty parents then went to all of our classrooms and talked about their time in the service with our students during Morning Meeting. Ernie the Eagle made an appearance too! The Velveteen Rabbit

Last Wednesday, the VA Repertory Theater presented The Velveteen Rabbit to our K-3 students. The children paid attention, laughed, applauded and asked great questions of the actors at the end. Hogwarts Students, Wednesday Addams, Power Rangers and more were in attendance at our Trunk-or-Treat.

Thank you to the students and their families who took part in the event.

HUGE THANK YOU to the families that donated candy and non-candy items!

Special Congratulations to The DeLorean, the Ghost Trunk and the Hogwarts Classroom trunk who were voted as best trunks!

Veterans’ Day Celebration

All Active Duty, Reserve, Guard, and Retired Service members, please join us for light breakfast treats, with your spouse and Clermont children, to honor you!  

When: Nov. 10th, 8:15-9:00 am

Where: Clermont Elementary School Cafeteria

Bring your Clermont student and enjoy light refreshments together with Ernie the Eagle and more!

Afterwards, from 9:05-9:35, we’re hoping you will join classrooms to share a little bit about military life. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for students to better understand why we celebrate Veterans’ Day while creating meaningful interactions for students and veterans.

Some ideas:

• Share why you serve
• Bring in an artifact to share
• Share a short story of your time in service
• Share a favorite memory or experience
• Share what you like best or your biggest challenge
• Share what you’re most proud of etc.

Also, we can provide a story for a read aloud connected to military life
