Your Best Chess is back!

Fall 5-week “Mini-Program” 2023 (Nov. 14 - Dec. 12, 2023)

Tuesday Mornings (7:45-8:45 a.m.)

Every one-hour class consists of a structured lesson for all four (4) of our identifiable skill levels. Each group is given ample time to play actual games. We try to make each class as fun, interesting and challenging as possible. Plenty of time is allocated for questions and answers at the end of each class to reinforce what has been taught that day.

Our final class in every session is what we refer to as "Tournament Trophy Day". All of our chess players will engage in a three-round tournament followed by the presentation of trophies that everyone will have earned!!!! That’s right…each student will be rewarded with a trophy by simply demonstrating that they are actively learning chess!!!!! What could serve as a better learning environment?!?!?!

Odyssey of the Mind

10/1/2023 6:02 pm

Hey Clermont!

Do you like to write?
Do you like to sing?
Do you like to create things out of cardboard?

Do you play an instrument?
Do you like collaborating with friends?

Are you ready for an AMAZING creative adventure?

Odyssey of the Mind is a one-of-a-kind creative problem-solving program for K-12 students sponsored by the Clermont PTA. From October to March, teams work to solve a long-term problem, then present their solutions at a regional competition. Each team develops their own unique solution and do ALL the work themselves, encouraged by parent coaches. There is a weekly commitment on a day and time that the team agrees upon.

You’ll find more information at www.odysseyofthemind.com.

Next steps: We will form teams within the next two weeks. New to Odyssey and ready to dive in? Returning OMer? Sign up here: https://forms.gle/C1FtXU73pB8dH9tJ8

Please note that the number of teams we are able to assemble is entirely dependent upon having enough parents willing to coach.

Interested? Please join us at an informational Zoom meeting Tuesday, October 10 at 7:00pm.

Any questions, please contact Jennifer Jones, the Clermont OOTM Coordinator at ClermontOOTM@gmail.com
