What a fantastic week we had celebrating our Clermont Teachers!  A huge SHOUT OUT to the Hospitality Committee of Danielle Brown, Emily Christensen & Cindy Samuelson for helping the PTA make last week so special for our teachers.
Here are some of the things your membership in the PTA provided through our Hospitality Committee:
Lunch at the House of Dynasty on Monday, light breakfast bar on Tuesday morning, Make-Your-Own Trail Mix Bar on Thursday, and a simple end-of-the week treat bag placed in Teachers mailboxes on Friday morning!
This was in addition to the generous student, family, & administration appreciation shared with the teachers & specialists through out the week!

In the middle of the festive week last week, the PTA also recognized Tina Buckingham, our dedicated clinic aide, during School Nurse Day on Wednesday.  Special thanks to Hali Barbeau and sons who managed to decorate and suprise Ms. Buckingham with a super decorated clinic door ~ Who knew band-aids could say so much?

More Than 700 Events Planned in 49 States and the District of Columbia
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (May 8, 2012) — Tomorrow, for the first time ever, communities across the country will join together to celebrate National Bike to School Day. Schools, cities, bicycle groups, public health organizations and parents alike are organizing bike rides and bike trains to school to highlight and celebrate the benefits of choosing student-powered transportation to school.
To date, more than 700 Bike to School Day events in 49 states and the District of Columbia have already registered on the official website, www.walkbiketoschool.org. And the total number of participating schools is expected to grow throughout May, which is National Bike Month.

Clermont will be celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week beginning Monday May 7^th through Friday May 11^th.  If your family would like to participate in recognizing their classroom and specialist teachers for all their hard work, then please see the schedule listed below.  You could also check out the teacher wish www.clermontpta.org/wish-list/ and help grant a wish this week! This is optional for your student.  It is a fun & hopefully easy way to show their teacher(s) their appreciation!

Monday: The PTA is providing lunch at the House of Dynasty for the teachers and staff

Tuesday: Treats!  Please send in something sweet or salty or perhaps a fresh piece of fruit for your teacher and instructional aide.

Wednesday: Flowers! Please bring a single stem flower for your teacher. (Vases will be provided.)

Thursday: Specialist Day! Please send in a small treat or a note of appreciation for your specialist teachers.

Friday: Write a note! Please send in a card, note or a poem of appreciation for your teacher.   (Homemade is the best!)

It is teacher appreciation week this week May 7th – 11th! Help celebrate our wonderful teachers by showing them your appreciation! Great News!  The Clermont OM Team has reached their fund-raising goal!  They are ready to take the team to the OM World Finals in Iowa in May.  They are so grateful for all the private and public donations from our generous community.  They were able to raise enough money to help off set their costs for this incredible opportunity for these Odyssey students.  Thank you!

EXTRA ~ EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT…
Clermont’s 5th Grade Odyssey of the Mind (OM) Team took 1st place at the 2012 Odyssey of the Mind State Finals this past weekend!  They performed OM problem #5: Odyssey Angels. The team will now compete at the 2012 World Final Odyssey of the Mind competition in May at Iowa State University!   Please stay-tuned as OM fund-raising efforts are underway to help offset costs for this trip.
